00 per hour QUALIFICATIONS: Required: • 2 Years of EMT/Paramedic experience • Certified and in good standing with the National Registry of EMTs or State certification Preferred: • At least two years of experience as a full-time or equivalent part-time instructor in the EMT/Paramedic Program Additional Eligibility Requirements: • N/A Classification: • Non-exempt Position Type & Work Schedule: • Part-time, up to 19 hours per week • May teach evening and/or weekend as needed Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Ability to teach and perform EMS procedures • Use classroom technology; computer, A/V equipment, EMS manikins, and EMS training equipment Work Environment: • Classroom setting • Normal lighting • Normal noise level Physical Demands: • Must be able to perform and demonstrate all course skill requirements i.

CPR, airway maneuvers • Lift and carry all lab equipment • Move classroom furniture to properly set up classroom for lecture and lab skills Travel: • 5% occasional travel to a non-AWC property to provide instruction and lab skills training Note: • Parker Learning Center • Not benefit eligible • Completion of EDU 250 – The Community College within two years of initial employment, or transcript indicating successful completion of a similar course at another college SUMMARY OF FUNCTION: Teaches EMS Skills and Lectures for the EMT/Paramedic Programs, ensuring that lectures adhere to all applicable regulating agencies and guidelines.
TYPICAL DUTIES: Serves students.
Teach EMS and EMT/Paramedic courses as required.
Instructors are responsible for the daily operation of the program, this includes, lecturing, project management, and the assignment of reinforcement work for students.
May teach evenings and/or weekends as needed.
Set up and breakdown of equipment for use during practical skills training.
Instructors are required to teach skills in accordance with the Educational Standards and the course syllabi.
Instructors teach through both lectures and practical hands-on education.
Courses may include, theory, practical application, skills training, or live scenarios.
Creation and implementation of lesson plans for given lectures.
Instructors may be required to create a lesson plan for any given lecture.
This includes but is not limited to the creation of lectures, PowerPoints, and homework assignments.
Design, develop and update program curriculum, under the supervision of the Course Coordinator.
Promotes EMS programs through local, regional, and national partners.
Serve on local and state committees as directed by the Director of EMS.
Working with the Director of EMS and Course Coordinator, coordinate regular reviews of the program to ensure effectiveness and alignment with the college mission and values and in meeting community/workforce needs.
Identify student learning outcomes; develop processes and tools for assessment; incorporate student data to modify instructional materials.
Support and participate in strategic planning initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.
