Description:
The Admissions Specialist reports to the Practice Administrator and is responsible for answering and directing telephone calls, greeting members, obtaining and completing initial member paperwork, checking enrollment & funding status in multiple databases, scheduling transportation and clinical appointments, helping with ongoing audits and providing support to the clinical staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Must be able to establish rapport with members and persons presenting to ESBF
Must be able to conduct the initial screening and triage of member service requests within the required timeframes
Must be able to maintain communication with PA and clinical staff to facilitate member care
Provides quality customer service
Ensures completion and accuracy of intake packet and benefits status
Notifies clinical personnel of emergent clinical or medical needs of persons presenting at ESBF
Provides timely notification to other departments to ensure members are assessed within required time frames
Responsible for scheduling appointments
Calls members to remind them of their scheduled appointments
Arranging transportation for members as needed
Adheres to all agency policies, procedures, and protocols
Collects data required for documentation to ensure the delivery of prompt member services including benefit lookups, chart lookups, enrollment status and reviewing paperwork for completeness
Must be flexible to cover all business hours: 7am to 7pm some days and potentially Saturday morning
Any other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Must be able to work in-person/in-office at all times.
Not a remote or hybrid position.
Experience:
1 -2 years’ experience in a customer service or behavioral health setting preferred.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Regulatory:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Valid, unrestricted Arizona driver’s license and the willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment.
Must meet minimum requirements of agency insurance carrier.
Must be able to meet training and agency compliance requirements for the position.
CPR and First Aid certification (Employer provides).
Clean criminal background check and the ability to obtain and maintain a level one clearance card.
