English Learner (EL) Assessment Coordinator SUMMARY Under the direction of the Academic Support Director employee will provide administrative support to assigned Director; acting as liaison between the Director and other parties; and monitoring assigned programs and/or projects within the Academic Support/Migrant departments.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist visitors by answering questions or providing information regarding office/department policies and procedures.
Coordinate EL testing for the District; includes monitoring testing throughout the testing window and training testers on security, ethics, protocol and test scoring.
Ensures testing is completed in time frame set forth by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE).
Serves as testing administrator for ADE Connect, AzEDS, Rosetta Stone, and e-ELL Pro.
Responsible for EL reporting to the ADE.
Maintain and coordinate EL student data base internally.
Maintain EL student’s participation in Synergy district wide.
Responsible for all EL counts which determines EL funding.
Maintain EL program participation in state SAIS system for funding approval.
Continuously provide EL student lists for district administrators, principals, teachers, and data personnel.
Reviews all incoming student cumulative records for EL reports and proof of eligible immigrant status.
Work in unison with registrars and Migrant staff to ensure accurate testing/placement and identify immigrant status, Migrant, EL and Special Education.
Assists Academic Support Director with document notarization, proof of residence, guardianship documents and identifying McKinney-Vento homeless students.
Responsible for ordering state mandated EL testing and instructional materials.
Distribute and collect materials to mail for scoring for district and state testing results in deciding student’s program participation.
Performs other related duties as required by supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines High school diploma or GED required.
Shall have at least five years of experience in a responsible administrative secretarial position.
(Education or training beyond high school may be substituted for experience.
) Shall have knowledge of business English, spelling, math, modern office equipment, business practices and procedures and software applications.
Shall have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites; including Word, EXCEL, Publisher, PowerPoint and other software packages.
Shall have the ability to work and communicate effectively with community, Board, students and staff members.
Knowledge of: District and Department policies and procedures; Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software and other equipment.
Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; Pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules.
Skill in: Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Use of computers and technology, to include but not limited to email, internet, Microsoft Office or equivalent software.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS A valid State Driver’s License may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT Work is performed throughout the district and in a standard office environment.
Positions in this class typically require: use of hands, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with public and staff.
