In special circumstances we also can deliver for a fee although we are not a delivery service.
Right now we have VERY TAME, beautiful genetic bred baby cockatiel chicks (SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS) avalable for a new home! We formula handfeed all of our babies by syringe and socialize them.

Call Mitch or text at (951) 796-3936 for more info and updates.
Most of you who know our reputation also know we do not inbreed or line breed any of our birds and therefore all our birds are bred genetically for purity, which generally leads to longer life and better health, tameness, talking ability and temperament.
Check out our Face Book page at COCKATIELS OF THE SOUTHWEST.
Our birds are ALWAYS in very high demand.
NO INFLATED PRICES! NO SWAPMEET BIRDS! NO BIRDS STUCK ON UNLOADED SHIPS! WE STILL HAVE BIRDS! AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY A NEW ONE EVERY FEW YEARS.
OUR BIRDS ARE A GREAT GIFT FOR CHILDREN, ADULTS OR THE ENTIRE FAMILY! THEY ARE INTELLIGENT AND MAKE GREAT COMPANIONS.
THEY ARE EXCELLENT FOR THERAPY TOO.
ABOUT US AND OUR BIRDS: We are NOT A PET STORE but very reputable PRIVATE BREEDERS well known for our knowledge and dealing in exotic birds.
We do not advertise freely on Craigslist as 99.
9 per cent of other breeders do because we are professional breeders and are very serious about our birds, how they are bred and ultimately who they go home with.
We offer only the best, most beautiful cockatiels for pets and breed primarily for personality, temperament and color.
We have been doing it over 36 years now and have many beautiful "formula hand-fed-by-syringe" babies, taken from our nests at only 3 to 4 weeks old, then hand-fed by syringe with our own special formulas and socialized.
These birds are sweet, mellow and very tame, enjoy human companionship, will step on your hands, love to be cuddled, petted and scratched.
Both males and females can learn to talk, whistle tunes and do tricks.
Many of our clients have birds with over 50 word vocabularies right now and some of our own have exceeded 100 word vocabularies.
Because of the way our birds are bred, they generally live approximately 25 to 35 years.
Our babies do not bite.
(unless abused and that's a "no-no" with us) We care a lot about their health and social development.
If you are serious about a pet then you will not be disappointed because we work with our birds, playing with them and socializing them on a daily basis to make them true companions.
All of our babies are hand raised and formula fed so they will bond with you quickly.
We always have many unique and beautiful color varieties of baby cockatiels either ready now or being prepared through hand-feeding to go to a loving home.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE SEXING OF BABY COCKATIELS: Cockatiels, as babies are difficult for most people to sex.
Because of experience, we are able to sex our babies to about 70 to 90 per cent accuracy once they are about 8 weeks old.
Anything younger would require DNA sexing, which we do not do.
Both males and females have equal "ability" to talk and whistle.
However, by nature females are often quieter and gentler while males are sometimes more active.
We have many clients with both male and female birds of both genders that talk and whistle very well.
AVAILABILITY: We usually have baby birds that were formula hand fed, are now weaned and eating on their own that are 7 to 12 weeks old.
If not, we always have others that are currently being hand-fed from the ages of 3 or 4 weeks up until they are weaned.
SOME PEOPLE PICK OUT THE BABIES WHEN WEANED.
MANY OTHERS COME AND PICK THEIR BIRD RIGHT AWAY WHILE IT IS STILL BEING HAND FED AND THEN PICK IT UP WHEN IT IS READY TO GO HOME.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT FROM OTHER BREEDERS? First of all we care about our birds and where they go.
We try and answer the questions you may never think of to ask because most people who get pet birds are new at it and simply do not know what they do not know.
So we try and tell them.
We will make sure that when you take your new baby bird home you will be well instructed on how to care for it.
Then there are things that many new buyers often overlook such as genetics.
Because we do not inbreed or adopt out any birds with a history of being inbred, we provide only healthy birds that have a good chance of reaching their true life and age potential.
Inbred birds are poorely bred birds and because of that they often carry both obvious and hidden diseases, as well as temperamental issues in their genes.
Most cockatiels being sold in the bird market unfortunately have been inbred for several generations and owning such a bird, although it may look healthy when purchased, usually means less years of life, inherited disease and temperamental issues as the bird ages.
None of our breeding parents are related to the other and we do not breed the siblings together as so many other breeders do.
We neither line breed or in-breed our birds.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW NOW: The client should know there is a very big difference between the calmness, temperament and training capacity of formula hand-fed baby cockatiels as opposed to those that are raised by their parents and are relatively wild.
Often these parent raised birds are represented by some breeders as "tame" or "hand-tamed" because they will perch on your finger at a very young age, but this is a little misleading because everyone should understand the so -called "tame" baby bird they are selling is being forced to barely tolerate handling when it really is just a frightened or disoriented little baby bird and can do nothing about it.
.
.
.
.
.
until later when it gets older, develops.
.
.
and realizes the power of its beak and the art of biting.
By breeding age, which is anywhere from 5 months to a year old this "tame" bird will often have turned into a very temperamental nuisance, no longer fearing the hand, delivering painful and nasty bites at will and terrorizing the kids and family that once thought their little bird was so cute and adorable.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE TYPES OF BIRDS, YOU WILL USUALLY FIND THEM EASILY, BUT DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE BUYING.
YOU DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
BEWARE OF "CHEAP BARGAINS".
THERE IS A REASON THESE BIRDS ARE SO INEXPENSIVE.
BUY GOOD QUALITY, TAME , FORMULA HAND FED BIRDS INSTEAD.
It is much better to take home a formula hand-fed baby.
Also our birrds are all bred indoors in a heated and clean breeding room.
There are no rodents to infect your bird with disease nor do they have contact with wild outdoor birds that can transfer disease and red mites into your home by infecting your new baby bird.
Unfortunately many outdoor breeders do have this problem and the ones that do not have to work very hard to protect their bords from it.
Before you spend your money to buy what you thought was "a great deal" come and see our birds and the difference between a truly tame, SOCIALIZED professionally bred hand-fed bird that adores human companionship as opposed to what many out there may be selling and offering you.
You don't even have to buy from us.
Just come and see the difference first.
It will speak volumes to you.
Our birds will sell themselves.
We write this because a new bird buyer simply does not usually know what to expect, ask about or look for.
They are at the mercy of the seller and misrepresentation is quite common by unscrupulous sellers.
Visit us first.
We promise you will be glad you did.
You will find integrity and birds that all in the family can handle and cherish.
COME SEE US!: To make an appointment give us a call at (951) 796-3936.
We will show you our birds.
You can see the baby's parents on site, see the breeding, nesting and even the hand-feeding process right before your own eyes as well as the cleanliness of our breeding area.
For most out there we are no more than anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or two away.
The drive will be worth it for a pet that may be with you almost 30 years! Ask for "Mitch".
With our many years of experience breeding cockatiels, we know our breeding lines and birds will meet your expectations.
This is especially important if you have young kids that will be handling the bird.
