Materials Manager

Palo Verde Hospital is currently looking for a skilled Materials Manager to oversee the procurement, inventory control, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement and Vendor Management: Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers to secure cost-effective and high-quality medical supplies and equipment.
Ensure compliance with hospital purchasing policies and procedures.
Inventory Control: Implement and maintain efficient inventory management systems to track stock levels, expiration dates, and reorder points.
Minimize waste and surplus while ensuring an uninterrupted supply of essential materials.
Budget Oversight: Work closely with finance and department heads to develop and manage the materials budget.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization.
Collaboration: Coordinate with various hospital departments to understand their materials needs and ensure timely and accurate delivery of supplies.
Foster effective communication to address any issues related to inventory or procurement.
Compliance and Regulation: Stay informed about industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices related to materials management in a healthcare environment.
Ensure hospital compliance with relevant guidelines.
Team Leadership: Supervise and lead the materials management team, providing guidance, training, and support.
Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Relevant certifications (e.
g.
, Certified Materials & Resource Professional - CMRP or Supply Chain Management) is required.
Proven experience in materials management or equivalent, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using materials management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and compliance standards.
Knowledge of compliance with GAAP/GASB
