At YRMC our ED delivers all services 24/7, treating an average of 200-220 patients per day.
This includes our internal observation unit staffed with designated RN’s and Nurse Practitioners.
Our 72-bed emergency department is equipped with four trauma bays with built in x-ray and telemedicine capabilities, a dedicated pediatric zone with Emergency Medicine Pediatric Physicians, a dedicated ED pharmacist, two state of the art helipads, and a dedicated radiology suite with two x-ray rooms a 64 slice CT scanner and ultrasound room.
Our ED team is invested in not only meeting, but also exceeding national benchmarks such as door to alteplase times < 45 minutes and door to PCI times < 90 minutes.
As the only Trauma Center for 180 miles, we stabilize all acuity of injured patients and strive for rapid transfer when services are not locally available.
At YRMC, our ED nurses, physicians, APP’s, patient care attendants, pharmacists, radiology staff, and registration.
The Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care; Supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family; Functions within the Yuma Regional Medical Centers Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients; Provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts.
Delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability and availability of resources; Possesses excellent communication skills; Demonstrates skill in mentoring and teaching; Participate on committees or projects; Functions within the Scope and Standards of Practice as outlined by the Americans Nursing Association and state law.
Minimum Requirements:
2 + years related experience
Associate's/ Bachelor's degree - Nursing
Arizona State/ Compact State RN License
BLS (American Heart Association)
ACLS
PALS
NIHSS (Stroke Certification)
