An RN First Assist, or RNFA, is an experience surgical nurse who performs first assist responsibilities in accordance with the State of Arizona Practice Act and AORN standards.
This individual works directly under the surgeon being assisted, positioning, prepping, and draping, the patient, retracting tissue, and is dedicated solely to assisting the primary surgeon within the scope of practice.
RN First Assist Minimum Requirements:
Associates degree in Nursing / graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
Arizona or compact state nursing license in good standing
Three (3) or more years of related experience, preferably in an OR
Preferred requirements:
One (1) or more years of experience as an RNFA
Work Schedule: 8-hours, Days
